Flashing flow in the rotating curved channels with variable cross-section of a two-phase flow turbine

چکیده

The rotating flash flow has rarely been studied, although its characteristics affect significantly the performance of two-phase turbine. In this paper, through analyzing flashing obtained by CFD methods, which is validated with experimental data, relationships average parameters under various rotational speeds were studied theoretically and numerically using equations established on Frenet coordinate system. ratio mass rate was formalized found to be dependent speed thermophysical properties. generation development vapour revealed correlated geometry channel. secondary in channel discussed rotate opposite directions upstream/downstream throat. induced near throat had effect homogenizing normal direction cross-section. analysis could further applied analogy between single-phase flow.

A Numerical Study on Non-Isothermal Flow Through a Rotating Curved Duct with Square Cross Section

Abstract: Non-isothermal flow through a rotating curved duct with square cross section is studied numerically by using the spectral method, and covering a wide range of the Taylor number, Tr, 2000 0   Tr and Dean number, , Dn 0Dn 2000. A temperature difference is applied across the vertical sidewalls for Grashof number Gr = 500, where the outer wall is heated and the inner one cooled. The r...

An approximate model for slug flow heat transfer in channels of arbitrary cross section

In this paper, a novel approximate solution to determine the Nusselt number for thermally developed, slug (low-prandtl), laminar, single phase flow in channels of arbitrary cross section is presented. Using the Saint-Venant principle in torsion of beams, it is shown that the thermally developed Nusselt number for low-prandtl flow is only a function of the geometrical parameters of the channel c...

Drag coefficient and strouhal number analysis of a rectangular probe in a two-phase cross flow

In some case of laboratory and industrial applications, various kind of measurement instruments must be placed in a conduit, in which multiphase fluid flows. Vortex shedding for any immersed body in flow field is created with a frequency, which according to flow conditions such as flow rates, geometry of body, etc. may be constant or variable. Failure may happen, if this frequency is close to o...

PULSATILE MOTION OF BLOOD IN A CIRCULAR TUBE OF VARYING CROSS-SECTION WITH SLIP FLOW

Pulsatile motion of blood in a circular tube of varying cross-section has been developed by considering slip flow at the tube wall and the blood to be a non- Newtonian biviscous incompressible fluid. The tube wall is supposed to be permeable and the fluid exchange across the wall is accounted for by prescribing the normal velocity of the fluid at the tube wall. The tangential velocity of the fl...
